Phil Crampton is one of the most active 8000-meter guides presently working in the the Himalayas. His wry British sense of humor, strong leadership skills, and passionate interest in both the mountains and people of Tibet and its culture ensure an unforgettable experience in high Asia. He has led over twenty five Himalayan expeditions including seventeen 8000-meter expeditions to; Everest summiting from both the Nepal and Tibet sides, Cho Oyu, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, Manaslu and Shishapangma. Elsewhere, he's led trips to Kang Guru, Mustagh Ata, Pumori, Denali, Aconcagua, and many other smaller peaks across the globe. When not climbing or organizing expeditions in Kathmandu he can be found consulting and volunteering as a teacher at the Tibet Mountaineering Guide School in Lhasa helping train many young Tibetans to become mountain guides.
